God's Alive

Moral Compass... where does it come from and how well is it followed?

We lose hope when the words preached seemed to have been true to young ears and become falsified through tragedy, let-down and death.

We loose our grip when the history of morals is twisted only into the words that spoke fire and brimstone.

A mother lies dying, holding onto to The Word as her young child sits by helplessly begging...
"God, where are you?  I promise, God, I promise to do Your work, to follow You to the ends of the Earth, to preach about You, love You, and die for You... if only..."

Death... not just one life, but two.  A mother's soul leaves for eternal life and child's soul leaves for eternal death... hope is lost, because hope was not understood.

Even when the nay-sayers  "prove" through science and pagan ideology and other beliefs... do they "prove" hope, or only the lack there of which is death?

Bad things happen.  Evil exists.  There is a choice.

Laws were God-breathed, written by one man, and were needed to be followed by all.  All kept falling...failing... loosing sight of life and eternity.  They came back around time and time again because our God is love and He gave them chances to repent and to be redeemed.  God knew that the time would come to give evil a chance to be chosen... chosen to be embraced or chosen to be trampled.  Jesus is that chance.  Evil is only an option, not a resource, not the be-all and end-all, and it's not the way... it's what you make of it and you can make it not an option.

A mother dying is not from evil.  She was sick, she believed in the gift of choice, and she chose wisely.  The child lets the moral compass fade and becomes angry and leaves behind the choice, and to live in dis-belief of anything.  That is the death.

God is a living God and Jesus shows us this by living as a man, dying as a man, and coming back as God... alive!

Jeremiah 10:10
But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.

Do we see the idols of old saving life?  Do we see bronze and ivory speaking hope?  Do we see them sacrificing themselves for man?  Where is their history?  Where is their truth?  The earth doesn't tremble before them, but it does before God.

 John 8: 58
Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am."

From beginning until end... I Am will be the Living God.  Not Dead.  Alive!  Showing us the moral compass to follow and forgiving us when we fall... when we choose life.

A child, guided away by death, loss, tears, and hopelessness... Remind him, death is not the end if you believe.  Cancer hurts, cancer kills, cancer is no more, and life happens... Remind him that it's not the end.  Remind him that this body, this vessel, this cancer is only temporary.  This world has nothing for him, for you, and nothing for me... eternity is calling and to eternity we will all go... the choice of what eternity it is, you hold that.  Death or life?  God does not dwell with the dead, because God is not dead!
